On the evening of 16 May 2015, Joshi committed suicide in her flat in Versova, Mumbai by slitting her throat with a kitchen knife in the bathroom. Joshi had alleged Dr. Vijay Sharma, who had performed a breast implant surgery on her in 2006, of sexually exploiting her in 2011. She completed all formalities and even paid for the surgery. I gave her a five-year warranty for the procedure." He claimed that Joshi came back in 2011 demanding him to perform the surgery again, free of cost, which he refused and asked her to pay. He added that after this incident Joshi and her brother filed a molestation case against him and demanded 2 crore from him to take back the case.
